Diaries: The Journey

If you are like me, at times you want to see everything in front of you on life's journey,  and wanting to know what is going to happen with every step you take.

I have been finding peace in seeing life's journey this way recently...

When you set off driving to get somewhere, you don't need to know the road. What you need is a map and know where you want to reach. You ask questions along the way, use your map and keep your destination in mind. That is what's really necessary for your journey.

We don't need to have it all figured out all the time, we can learn, make adjustments and improve along the way.

Happy Thursday!

  1. Every journey, we learn something new. Might be vital. Might be inconsequential. But what is important is that we learn from it.

  2. Life is all about the journey...and oh what a journey it is.

  3. Lovely thoughts. We often break free from our route and go on backroads! Hubby laughs so hard! (ツ) from Cottage Country Ontario , ON, Canada!

  4. Yes, you never know what comes along next. I'm glad that God knows the plan though. : )

  5. I've given up making plans long ago... I just try to enjoy the journey and take a day at a time.. and I make lots of adjustments, lol! xx

  6. Dearest Summer,
Yes, the destination is always the goal in life.
Having just come home from a 4,135 km trip through The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Switzerland and Germany... But I'm sure glad to be back home and on to normal routine.
The planning of the trip was fun though.

  7. Love the picture! Looks like an adventure ready to happen.

  8. I could NOT agree with you more!! Sometimes it's good to fly, er...drive "by the seat of your pants!!" catchatwithcarenandcody

  9. Good thoughts. I'm one of those people who inherently like to use Google maps, get the directions with every road along the way, memorize the route, and even use satellite and street views to see what every important corner looks like! Ha... Come to think of it, I try to do that in life too. I think it's part of being a chess player. Before I move, I like to contemplate all the possible results and responses. I think I'll always somewhat be this way.

But I am learning to just have faith sometimes. God knows the road ahead, and I don't need to worry. When I can't see or figure out the road ahead, I need to just move forward with confidence that He's my guide.

    Good post.

  10. A great post giving us all something to think about. Having faith helps us on our way.

  11. That's a wonderful philosophy -- and great photo!

  12. Just the words I needed to hear today, thank you.
