Island Mystery: Falling Leaves

{Island Mystery is a series in which I give you clues about the mysterious island paradise that I am living on.}

As I have mentioned in this post, trees shedding their leaves happen quite frequently here. And trees with both green and dried leaves is a regular thing to see.

There are some trees that shed colourful leaves, but we mostly have trees shedding brown leaves. Islanders don't see the dried leaves on the ground as appealing at all.

You don't see people here taking photos with dried leaves in the background, or even taking photos of the leaves at all. And I must admit, our dried leaves look nothing like the colourful and beautiful leaves that shed in most other countries during Autumn. But maybe they would be appreciated if we didn't have them shedding so often☺

Neighbours might judge you if you let the leaves stay for a while. Raking one's yard is priority when there are dried leaves in it. I even heard about my nephew (he was about 6 years old) raking the yard, and dumping the leaves in the pesky neighbour's (that's what he thought, but the man simply liked him) yard to get back at him. My nephew was a little menace! Maybe I was too when I was his age☺

Thank goodness, he was caught before he continued to think that is how you should treat someone who you think is annoying!

Anyways, continue to enjoy the colourful leaves (which I envy) in your beautiful Autumn bliss in your neck of the woods.

I hope you are enjoying this series, as I will be revealing my mysterious island soon♥

Have a wonderful day☺

Love,
Summer

  5. I think the picture is pretty - we have some trees with just brown unattractive leafs - the Oak comes to mind when I say this another tree that we have is a type of nut tree and the leaves stay on the tree until the middle or late winter in their dried brown color before they fall off.

  12. Hahaha, we also don't have any pretty autumn leaves here in Northern Germany, it's always raining and there are only ugly, wet, grey leaves everywhere :D

  16. This is such a fun post, Summer! What a great idea :-) I can't yet guess where you are, I'll have to keep checking back for clues! Here in Alaska fall has come and gone (along with the leaves) and winter is already on it's way, as evidenced by all of the newly fallen snow on the mountaintops! Have a great week!

  31. gorgeous photo and interesting info, I wouldn't have thought that leaves change color on an island! People in the North judge people too if they don't rake their leaves ;) xoxo catchatwithcarenandcody

    I am looking forward to the answer to the mystery. :-)

  33. Well, one of your clues was the fact that you spell "neighbours" like that. We spell it like this...neighbors. Oh, where do you live, dear Summer? I know those leaves fallen to the ground are brown, but that's such a pretty picture.
