A Revelation On Beauty

For me, beauty is not just skin deep. Beauty is me and it is also more than just me.

Lately, I have been looking deep into what makes me feel beautiful. And I have realized that savouring the little moments, feeding my dog, smelling some flowers, doing art that I love, just noticing the beauty of the world around me , and appreciating life makes me feel beautiful.

There is a beauty that comes from within the soul, but there is also beauty that comes from looking outside of ourselves.

Thoughts?

Happy Thursday☺

Love,
Summer

  1. I need some beauty today and this is clearly beautiful. And outside my window is beautiful.

  2. It looks to me as though you're surrounded by beauty on your island and in the sea. I find that beauty is also in a smile or a gesture of kindness, spring blossom (here in the UK!) which shows summer is not far away - all lovely moments that make the world a nicer place to be.

  3. That is the kind of beauty that lasts! Also I believe when we surround ourselves with beauty it goes deep inside of us and causes us to reflect that beauty to others!

  8. What a "beautiful" post, dear Summer. Beauty is so much more than just the surface...beauty goes to our very heart and soul and pours out of our lives onto others.

    Have a lovely weekend. Hugs!

  9. I'm not sure what makes me feel beautiful. Maybe when I get dressed up and actually put makeup on!

  10. A beautiful photo, as usual! :) I agree with your musings here. I think if we just pay attention, we can see beauty in so many little things which might just go unnoticed. A smile, a genuine "hello", an act of kindness, a baby's laugh, snuggling with your dog and an icy cold glass of fresh water all bring beauty to our soul.

  11. I think your environment has a lot to do with making you feel beautiful too. When you are surrounded by beauty it is easier to feel beautiful ;)

  17. I think that beauty forms in the goodness of a kind heart, Summer. I feel it's expressed in the way we are with others, in how we move in the world and how we shape the world. And, I think it's influenced by what we absorb from the world around us whether that be from other people, from places, from nature. Every day here, in my little garden, my eyes will rest on something beautiful whether it be a flower, a leaf, a tree or an animal of some kind. This morning, as I've been writing here, there's been the most splendidly coloured little parrot feeding on native flowers. A little bit of beautiful that I will carry with me throughout my day and that will colour my interactions with others. Such a lovely and thought-provoking post, Summer! I am enjoying your blog very much. Meg:)
