Thoughts On Transformation

Over the past few years, I have been going through a lot of major changes... And I am still going through some. We all go through stages and phases. Right?

But there have been times when it seems like I was just standing still. Then I realized that an individual goes through changes much like a butterfly!

We often times experience the stage of the 'Chrysalis.' The stage where it seems like nothing is really happening. But a lot of change is taking place underneath that shell... Wings are fully formed in the Chrysalis!

Then after some time, the butterfly emerges!

Can you relate to this too?

  1. There are those times in life and I think it's important to make such time! Recharge and refresh, and take a flight with new wings :-)

  6. Lots of changes for me in the next few months - hubby just took early retirement, will be selling our house and moving to Florida and away from our daughters. Kind of in a holding pattern now, but it's coming and I try not to stress but look at the adventure of it all :-)

  7. The last 4 years has been a huge change for Mr. Sweet and myself...selling our home of 40 years, moving into a beautiful home belonging to our son...we are in our son's back yard and our girl lives 9 miles down the road from us...we are so blessed....

  8. I love the picture of the flowers and butterfly.
Life changes, evolves ... we move with it, we learn, we think ... perhaps improve, but we always do our best.

    All the best Jan

  9. I like changes and at my age I have had several life changing events some good some really bad.
However I have learned I have no control over lots of things life gives us. Otherwise I would not accept all the bad changes in my life. I just plow through it crying and screaming and finally coming out on the other end alive and in my studio and in my blog world glad to be alive LOL

  10. I can surely relate to your post. We all go through changes some good and some bad, but they make us who we are and we are all much stronger for it. I hope that you have a wonderful day!!!

  11. I can. For many years our lives were based around raising our son. Then he moved on his own and we were busy being empty nesters, but still basically with the same schedule since Steve was still working.

Recently Steve retired and now we have the opportunity for a new way of life. We just need to figure out how we want to be. We are ready to start a new transformation.

  12. Summer, we should all take time to just listen to what is going on around us. I think it makes for a better life and sitting still for awhile can make that happen. I love the still time and then feel better able to move on. Thanks for your visit and kind words..Have a wonderful rest of the week..Judy

  13. Some smart man called W. Von Braun, once said - nature does not know extinction, all it knows is transformation.
When I read that as a teenager it completely changed the way I look at things...including death.
Change is not always welcome, but I love your version of why.
Thanks for the visit to my blog.

  16. Hi Summer,

This is a great analogy. Yes, I certainly can relate. This also happens while I am exercising, trying to loose weight. I recently spend a lot of time walking and felt that nothing was happening. I realize now that even though my weight did not change much during that time, my body was changing; I was getting leaner and building muscle :)

I enjoy the way you write and will certainly be back to visit your blog again :)

  17. Yes I can relate to this there has been times when I didn't think my life was going anywhere and nothing was changing then suddenly I realise things had been changing and moving forward I was just unaware of the changes as they happened

  21. Oh Yes, Summer, I relate. It seems like at times things are still, and then other times things come our way that feel like avalanches. Oh, I so understand, my dear.

My friend just send me an e-mail saying, "this too shall pass" and now I'm sharing it with you.

  22. We all go through changes, some good, some not so much. Sometimes it's difficult to remember that we have to go through the bad stuff to appreciate the good. Life is unpredictable, but I suppose that's what keeps things interesting.
