Thoughts On Happiness

Life gets so busy at times... In today's world, everything is a big thing and we tend to chase happiness. Then I have to remind myself sometimes that I already have the resources to be happy.

Here are some things I am happy about today...

Food on my table
A good shelter
Clean water
Friends and family
Clothes to wear
The beautiful sunshine
Each new day

I am also happy about simply being able to feel, see, hear, taste and smell.

What are you happy about today?

Love,
Summer

  1. Our grandchildren make me happy! And, yesterday my precious sister in law gave me a car. Long story, but I'm overwhelmed with gratitude. God is so good!

  2. lovely picture. I could sit there for hours and art away. I live close by the sea in fife but my current health is preventing me from being outside more often. However, I am still grateful for my family and friends and that I have a roof over my head and the absolute bonus that I have an art space to create til my heart is content :) T x

  4. What a charming photo. My favorite place is at the ocean. I'm thankful we have a lovely home - not a fancy or magnificent one - but one that shelters us - belongs to us - and one that we can share good times with our family. I am often amazed at our good fortune of our home. I like to wander through the house - in my bare feet - feel the beat of the house - the life it gives and holds for us. I'm thankful for each new day - each lovely evening - and recently I'm thankful for good steady workers who can help us with things that need to be done - we just had our deck painted and readied for the winter - the couple who do our handyman work are quick, efficient and happy to have the job - they work fast and well - and I'm so thankful they are in our lives. - there are so many other things I'm thankful for - I could go on and on - but I shall stop here. I'm thankful I found your blog - ok, now I'll stop.

  6. Summer, when I first started blogging, I did a post about the five senses. I'm so glad to hear that you are thankful for them and for many other things in life. I heard one time that grateful people are the happiest people. I believe this is true. What a lovely post this is.

  14. Thanks for visiting and commenting on my blog Summer.
The simple things are definitely what makes me happy. Having been away from home for an extended period the very first thing I did when I got back was stroll around the garden. I didn't worry about the work that needed to be done but just soaked up the loveliness of being home and in my own space. It's the best.

  16. Beautiful photo!
I think that if you can find happiness in the everyday things, you will have a happy life! I love sunshine, fluffy clouds, the smell of cut grass, beauty all around, a babies laugh, salvation!

  17. Good reminder and beautful photo! I so love water.. so am thankful for the ocean and the crashing waves, although I live 4 hours from it, but I can still get there fairly quickly.. thankful for my 5 senses also.. still intact at the age of 69.... so thankful that I can walk and talk, see and smell, hear and have all of my memories still with me! Thankful for my sisters and my son and the many happy memories that fill me.. of my life. I think life is all about the many little things that fill up our souls.

  18. Daughter and son-in-law came for dinner today. My son was here too. Afterwards, we played games. Being in the presence of my adult children makes me happy. I like the people they have become, and I'm also thankful that they enjoy being with us.

    Blessings,
