On Being A Morning Person

I have the most productive day when I am out of bed early. I am absolutely a morning person. Here are four simple tips to being a morning person:

  1. When I was a little girl, my mother always told me this... 'Early to bed- early to rise. Maketh a man healthy and wise. ' This would motivate me to go to bed early so that I would wake up early the next morning. And yes... It works.
  2. I try to have a morning routine that I am excited about. So that when I wake up, I am anxious to get into my routine.
  3. I don't like being forced to wake up by a clock. So, I don't use an alarm clock. I feel better waking up on my own. Tip #1 helps with this.
  4. I always plan out what I will do the next day before I go to bed. That helps me to wake up with my mind focused on the day ahead.

Are you a morning person too? What are your tips for getting the most out of your mornings or days?

Have a wonderful day ♥ And maybe you will like this ☺

Love,
Summer

  1. Yes I am a morning person always awake about 5:50 am everyday even on my days off work.On my days off I try to make a pot of coffee and go out back with some of my favorite girly magazines and just set and listen to the birds and watch my squirrels I feed. While I get some inspiration of something to make in my little studio full of treasures. My kids calls it trash.Another story LOL

  2. I am a morning person, too. I like to exercise first, and have a quiet prayer time, then breakfast. My Dad always thought that everybody in the house should get up early...even on vacations!

  3. I'm a morning person but I like an alarm incase I need it... I really need to work on number 1... getting to bed earlier ♡

  4. I hate using an alarm clock too. If it's light outside I have to get up!

  5. I sometimes wish I was more of a morning person but once I'm up, I'm going! I rarely see the sunrise, but every now and then...!

  6. No, I've never been a morning person AT ALL!! I wish I were, because on the rare occasion I get up early I love the peace and quiet. Because I've struggled with insomnia, I'm on this program now that requires me to get up every day at 7 a.m., which is early for me. It does seem like I get much more done in my day.
Thanks for stopping my my blog and introducing yourself. Deborah

  7. It's funny I saw this post now. It is 11:07 and I am just now having my coffee and waking up! Let me 'splain. We had our grandkids this past week and this morning they left early. I promised them last night I would make them pancakes and bacon before they left if they would stop fighting ;). So....I went back to sleep after they left. I actually thought it was 9 when I got up, and my mouth opened wide when I saw it was 11.

Having said that, I rarely see the sun rise. I'm more of a night person, but can get up early if need be. I do wish I could get up early as it does seem to lend itself to being more productive. I have two friends that are up every day by 4:30! I don't think I would like that as it makes it difficult to participate in nighttime activities, but 6'ish would be nice. Usually I'm up by 7:30-8.

Thank you for your visit! Please do come back!

  8. What a beautiful blog! So happy I clicked over after you left me a comment on mine. I wake up to the radio playing, but then take a medicine and have to wait a half hour to get up. The coffee is brewing and the dog comes and paws at me and I know its time to go!

  9. What a lovely place you have here.
I'm a morning person and have been all my life, "Perky Patty" is what some have called me.
I can accomplish a great deal of things through out my day when I begin early with the Lord. Giving Him the first part of my day seems only right, for He is worthy of that.
I agree with you, no need for an alarm clock. I find they have a way of making one crabby. :)
Because I get up early I find that I need to be in bed early too; I turn into a pumpkin at 9:00.

Have a beautiful and blessed day~~

  11. I have become a morning person - I used to be a night owl, but I realized lack of sleep was not good for my diabetes management, so I'm leaning to love morning routine :-)

  12. Me too! I can get a days work done in the am, but nothing after 5 o'clock! I make my bed as soon as I get out of it, starts the day off right :)

  22. I have always been a morning person. I get up and "get er done". My hubby on the other hand was a night person which over the years caused some strife, but we got around it somehow. Hugs, lj

  23. Hi, Summer. Thank you for visiting my blog and leave a comment. I never used to be a morning person. When I was a nurse, I worked shift work - usually 3 pm to 11 pm so I had to sleep later. Now that I'm retired, my dog gets up up and by necessity, I've become a morning person. I don't have an alarm clock either. I wake up the same time every day just naturally. If I sleep past 8 am, I feel like half the morning is gone. Have a blessed evening.

  24. These are good tips, especially number 4.
I'm a midnight owl who lives like a morning person, quite confusing.

  27. Summer, I am a morning person. Not the get up at five kind, but the kind that likes to get my work done in the morning! Having trouble sleeping can sometimes mess with my early to bed, early to rise mantra. Have a lovely weekend. ♥

  28. I wish I was a morning person! I tend to wake up earlier during the summer time (maybe my internal body clock is in tune with the seasonal daylight?)...

  29. Hi Summer! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I've enjoyed my visit here, and see that I like a lot of the same things as you. :) I'm so sorry to read about your old blog. I've been blogging for 9 years and can't imagine losing all that history.
I wish I was a morning person. I'm a night owl and get a second wind about 10 at night. I've been known to be up cleaning at that time. However, I work and get up a little after 5 most mornings. That means I can't be staying up late too many nights. :)

  32. My parents were early risers and we seldom were allowed to sleep in. When I first married, I stayed up late and slept in every morning. When I went to work, that changed and for 45 years I was up and at 'em early. It is so ingrained in me now that I can't help myself, and I don't need an alarm. Besides, morning is the best time of day. It's quiet, I spend time reading my Bible and prayer and then I'm ready to start my day. I just get more done before noon.

  33. I am both a morning and a night person. When I was teaching, I had to train myself to rise early so Steve and I could walk on the beach before I left for school. It was the best way for me to do something for myself before I dedicated my day to my students. But, I needed my time at night and I still savor it. It's almost midnight here, but I'll be up 'til almost 2 a.m. finishing projects before our company arrives tomorrow.

  34. Beautiful picture, I am a morning person because my dog is an early to rise dog and I can't seem to go back to sleep so I do try to get to bed early so I get enough rest. I wonder when she passes if I still will be an early morning riser or not.

  36. I'm a morning person too. I always say if you have a project to do with me start early! My body clock wakes me early (6 a.m.) daily. I don't go to bed early either! Love to see the sun come up- great way to start the day!

  38. I LOVE mornings. Everything about it--the quiet, the sunrise, listening to the birds "wake up". It's cool out so it's the perfect time to work in the garden and harvest things before the sun wilts things. But--don't talk to me after 8 pm.............
    :D
