My Blog Disappeared From Blogland

Life really knocked me hard two weeks ago... I had a gorgeous blog with a lot of beautiful photos and posts- SummerDaisy.net. It was flourishing♥

One night, I checked my blog and it was not there! Nope... No jokin'

After contacting my web host providers, they told me that they had taken my blog offline because my blog was too big for their system. Still not jokin'

They went further to tell me that I needed to get a web developer to go into my database and delete some of my posts and then they will try to get back my blog online. So I would need to have less content on my blog for them to keep it on their system. And that is why they dropped it from their servers. I further read in their information guide that when a blog/database has been dropped it cannot be retrieved. So... I realized my blog was gone and they where giving me the long run.

I wish they had told me that their system was not for blogs that have the potential to grow and have a lot of posts or content. And that they would get rid of my blog without notifying me before if they think it is too big for their system. How inappropriate is that?

Long story short... I ended up making a decision to keep looking forward. My lovely old blog is gone... I am still mourning...

But I am moving forward! I am now using this little space Summer Daisy Cottage. And I plan to fill it with wonderful content as the days go by.

I apologize about this unfortunate situation to my readers and dear friends who used to visit me at Summer Daisy. I hope you understand with this explanation♥ And learn from my experience... Please do extensive research about web host providers before you do business with them. Not all of them will follow protocol!

Hoping to see you around and looking forward to visiting you♥

Love,
Summer

  8. Hello Summer. I could hardly believe your blog was removed! Ended! Kaput! Oh, that was HORRIBLE. I just wonder now if that could happen to me. I have been blogging for 7 year and have more than 2000 posts! Oh my God, if I lost all of them, I would be heartbroken. Were you with GOOGLE? BLOGSPOT? WHERE? If that DID happen to me, I would have NO IDEA how to contact anyone. This is scary to me. Oh, woe is me. Susan

  26. That is just awful! At least they should have warned you, maybe tried to sell you more space or asked you to delete some of your older posts. Just shocking!

  27. Oh wow Summer that is terrible! I can't believe that they didn't contact you and let you know before they just removed it. That was soooo wrong! About 6 months ago most of my blog pictures disappeared and my hosting service said that they were gone and there was no retrieving them. I was so upset, bloggers work so hard on there blogs for something like these things to happen. I asked around til I found a tech to work on my blog, and it just so happen that he had a hosting service as well. So I had him transfer everything over to his hosting services and I have all my pictures back.
Good luck and have a great weekend!
